A few weeks ago, I was able to attend my first aerospace conference. I can genuinely say it was a life-changing experience.
At the AIAA SciTech 2024 conference, I met so many interesting people from around the world. Not only was I able to see several unique presentations and exhibits, I was also given the incredible opportunity to speak on a panel with fellow Go For Launch participants. Speaking in front of a crowd was definitely nerve-racking. However, being around other young professionals interested in space gave me the confidence to speak about my passion for space and how Higher Orbits gave me the boost I needed to dive deeper into my passion for aerospace.
While I attended the conference, I was introduced to many different companies and was able to see how big the aerospace community truly is. I also learned about future internships that will prepare me for the professional world. Having a head start on knowing what I want and can do to make my dreams a reality is not only a must, but a crucial part of how my future will unfold. Listening to professionals who have devoted their lives to science and the aerospace industry was very empowering to hear. Their testimonies about working in the aerospace industry gave me insight regarding what it will be like as a woman to work in this field.
Without my participation in Go For Launch, I would not have had this incredible experience. I am so grateful to Michelle and Higher Orbits for giving me this unique opportunity that I will never forget.
