A is for Adventure. I’m always up for an adventure and I am grateful for this opportunity to go on this trip! The Sydney area looks like a fun place to explore!
U is for understanding. I will be meeting lots of new people and cultures on this trip and also learning how to truly understand and relate to my peers.
S is for Science. I mean it is the International School of Science! I am very excited about discovering new fields of science and opening new doors to future career possibilities in the STEM field.
T is for Travel. I love traveling! I have been to Europe twice and visited seven different countries so far and I am so happy I get to add Australia to my list! I have always wanted to Travel to Australia and I am so glad I get to experience it and also grow as a student!
R is for Response. Part of the application process was how this experience will help you and your community. My hope is that I will have a positive response to this camp and I can spread this experience to my peers and younger students in my area.
A is for Attractions. I’m especially looking forward to visiting the Sydney opera house and the Sydney harbor on our trip. We also plan to visit a wildlife park and explore downtown!
L is for Learning. One of the main points if not the main point of this trip is to learn. I have been to summer camps in the past but this experience will be very different and my goal is to learn as much as possible!
I is for Intriguing. From the moment I saw the email to apply for the International School of Science to the Facebook live of the announcers and now preparing for the trip the ISS has never ceased to intrigue my curiosity. I have become more and more interested after learning about the guest speakers and the workshops we will get to be a part of. I am so honored that I get to be a part of such a great program.
A is for Arrival. Not only the arrival to Sydney and Australia, but also the arrival of new experiences, memories, and opportunities for my future in STEM.
To end this blog I would like to say that I am very excited to meet my team mates. We’ve met via zoom and they seem like such a good group of people to be around and learn from!
