A little more about Trip Harriss
Trip Harriss is an engineer in the aerospace field who has a passion for inspiring others with space. Growing up he loved to look at the stars and also learned to play piano thanks to his mom being a piano teacher. While he didn’t play much piano after high school, because he was busy learning to become a rocket scientist, he did work over the years to pick it back up including some practice when he worked a world away on a remote island in the Pacific. In 2021, Trip took a sabbatical from work where he was able to take extra time doing things he enjoys such as exercise, meditating, playing video games, and music! It was during this time that he was able to polish his playing and really dial in Clair de Lune. During this time he also started a rock band made up of engineers in the aerospace field who work together.
From Trip – “My hope was to create a way to use all my skills and talents to help others – not just in (hopefully) giving them something to enjoy, but to have an impact outside of just producing a sound recording – so I looked at this as an opportunity to give back. (and make my piano teacher proud) My motivation to help specifically Higher Orbits is believing in the mission, and as well how awesome it has been to meet some of the awesome kids who have benefited from the program.
Higher Orbits is galactically grateful to Trip for sharing his talents with all of us. We’d also like to give thanks to Lucas Gargano (executive producer of the song) and John Kraus (executive moon-ographer) who provided the cover art.
