Glenview, IL — September 5, 2024 – Higher Orbits is set to tee off at The Glen Club on Tuesday, September 24, for the annual Galactic Golf Tournament fundraiser to bring the Go For Launch! Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math (STEAM) program to more students. The event will feature two former NASA Astronauts, Tony Antonelli and Steve Swanson. “Go For Launch! is a unique multi-day program utilizing space exploration as a platform to launch student involvement in STEAM at the high school level,” said Astronaut Tony Antonelli, member of the Higher Orbits Astronaut Corps, a team of astronauts working with Higher Orbits students on their research studies to compete for spaceflight opportunities at the Go For Launch! events each year. “I’m excited to play in this tournament and look forward to helping raise funds to get more students involved.”
Individual golfers, corporate teams, and space enthusiasts who register will get to play alongside some out-of-this-world astronauts, will also get galactic snacks, space swag, a silent auction, and more. To join in on the fun, please register at https://higherorbits.org/galactic-golf/
