Ashburn, Virginia — April 7, 2022 – Higher Orbits will be hitting the green at the Belmont Country Club on April 25th for their first-ever Greater DC Charity Golf Outing to raise money to bring Go For Launch! to more students! The event will feature two retired NASA Astronauts, Greg “Box” Johnson and Mike Foreman, who flew to space together on space shuttle Endeavour for STS-123.

“I’m excited to support Higher Orbits at the golf outing in DC. What an amazing cause – bringing inspiration and valuable STEM content to our youth!” said Greg “Box” Johnson, member of the Higher Orbits Astronaut Corps, a team of select astronauts working with Higher Orbits students on their research studies competing for space flight opportunities at the Go For Launch! events each year.

The Greater DC Charity Golf Outing is sponsored by LII Wealth Management, WWCM Academy, Collins Aerospace, RS&H, Metavisionaries Inc., Researched Solutions, LLC, Copy General, A-B Emblem, Plano Pins, and Space Shirts.

Along with some out-of-this-world astronauts, this outing will also feature galactic snacks, meals, space swag, a silent auction and more!

“Space Inspires! We want to meet the increased demand for our Go For Launch! programs at communities and schools across the country,” said Michelle Lucas, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Higher Orbits. “We are poised to truly make a difference in the lives of traditionally underserved and underrepresented students, this event will raise needed dollars to expand our reach and launch new opportunities for student-led, space-flown research.”

Golfers, corporate teams, and space explorers eager to join in on the fun, should register at HigherOrbits.org/golf.
