Mr. Harris is the parent of a prior Higher Orbits Go For Launch participant. He witnessed how the program significantly influenced his child’s interests and academic path, and wants to help make sure other young adults have the opportunity to experience it.
Mitch is currently the Director of Research and Statistics at the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) where he executes and oversees research and analytic projects, primarily focused on pediatric health policy and quality measurement. In addition, he serves as an expert to Association staff and member hospitals providing methodological and analytic leadership. Before coming to work for CHA, Mitch worked in the quality improvement and utilization review departments of two academic health systems. He received a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from the University of Virginia, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Services Organization and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University.
