On June 29, 2016, the first Go For Launch! event happened in Deerfield, IL.
For two STEM-filled days, student teams worked alongside an astronaut mentor to explore ideas that could shape the future of space.
It all started because someone said yes.
Today, on our 10th anniversary, we’re asking you to be the next person who says yes.
Here’s what their yes built
- Alumni from Go For Launch! events have gone on to build careers as NASA flight controllers, aerospace engineers, and STEM researchers.
- A winning team from our very first event designed an experiment that launched to the International Space Station in 2017.
- Students have represented Higher Orbits at international conferences from Sydney to Milan, and gone on to study at universities including Caltech, Stanford, UVA, and Texas A&M.
After 100 events and thousands of students, the impact is clear.
Today, on our 10th anniversary, we’re asking you to say yes to the next decade of students experiencing STEM through hands-on, space-inspired learning.
