The trip to Australia is almost here, and there are so many things running through my mind. I am obviously very excited; however, I am especially enthusiastic about the connections I will soon make and the ones that I have already made due to this program. This will be my first time in Australia. Heck, this will be my first time in the southern hemisphere. I am a little worried about language barriers between me and the kids from other parts of the world, but since I know English, which is a Germanic/Romance language, and Hebrew, which is a Semitic language, I should be able to understand at least the gist of what ever were conversing about unless they speak a slavic language. The thing that I am most excited about is the opportunities that will come from this one. This is the perfect chance for me to meet people in the scientific community and learn from them. For instance, I remember Michel talking about a Nobel laureate being there, and I know that talking to them is the best way to understand their field because they literally won the prize for the knowledge they have in the subject. These next 2 and a half weeks will be very interesting and may be challenging, but I’m ready for them.
