January 3, 2022 — Higher Orbits is pleased to announce the inaugural “Your Future Flies with Us!” challenge. Through the support of Blue Origin’s Club for the Future, towns across the United States will compete to host a fully funded Go For Launch! event in their community.

“Space inspires! Higher Orbits is answering the call to bring STEM-anchored inspiration to your town with this opportunity,” said Michelle Lucas, Executive Director of Higher Orbits. “We want to hear from your community. If we gave YOUR students the opportunity to work alongside astronauts and scientists, what difference could it make?”

Go For Launch! delivers a multi-day, in-person, truly out-of-this-world experience to 8th-12th grade students leveraging spaceflight and space exploration as the launchpad for students to develop and strengthen their skills in STEM, teamwork, communication, research design, and leadership. GFL! students work side-by-side with an astronaut for the entire event – learning, growing, and developing the life-long skills that create a successful, meaningful future.

“Club for the Future is proud to support this new challenge as we work together to inspire today’s students and future generations in STEM careers that will enable them to preserve and protect the Earth,” said Michael Edmonds, President, Club for the Future. “Higher Orbits, and the Go For Launch! Program, exemplifies the game-changing outcome of engaging students directly with astronauts to build the participant’s confidence and recognize their own potential.”

Higher Orbits invites interested communities, town mayors, parents, and leaders to an informational webinar. For more information, visit: higherorbits.org/flywithus.
