Mikayla Scott is currently the Lead Artificial Intelligence Engineer and the Director of the Emergent Technology Division for Anchor Systems. Anchor Systems is an emergent technology solutions integrator, purpose-built to accelerate the delivery of engineered innovation. She infuses innovation and creativity into solutions for both the defense and commercial industries every day right from Kincheloe, Michigan. Mikayla is a recent graduate of the College of Engineering at Wayne State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. Currently Mikayla is a student at Syracuse University working on her master’s degree in Data Science with a focus in Artificial Intelligence. Mikayla is an engineer at heart, her curiosity and questioning drive her to the cutting edge of innovation. She lives by the motto of being a “lifelong learner,” she believes that in every situation there is knowledge to be acquired. Whether in school or out of school, consciously or subconsciously, she believes everyone is constantly inquiring, reflecting, making decisions, obtaining information and pivoting. Mikayla perceives the world as our classroom, and she feels that this mindset helps unlock a new perspective on life. After she graduates from Syracuse in May 2023, she plans to continue with her education in both the traditional sense, perusing a Doctorate in Engineering (D. Eng), and in the less traditional sense, learning from peers, colleagues, and life experiences. Mikayla is a true advocate for education, science, the Eastern Upper Peninsula, following your dreams and finding your own unique version of happiness. Mikayla lives in Barbeau, Michigan, in her free time she enjoys playing guitar, listening to music, and spending time at the lake with her family and her dog, Rex B.
