Grayson (Team Aeroloco) Shares His Thoughts Before Launch

Hi, my name is Grayson. I had the chance to attend a Go for Launch! event. Go for Launch!  is an amazing program to give middle and high schoolers the experience to brainstorm and pitch an experiment to go to the International Space Station (ISS), along with other space themed activities and creative problem solving challenges.

Today, I have the incredible opportunity to experience my team’s experiment being sent to the ISS thanks to Go for Launch. My interests are primarily in aerospace engineering. Go for Launch provided me with the experience to meet experts in the aerospace field and to work as a team to solve problems and advance creative brainstorming. One of the challenges from Go to Launch that I really enjoyed was researching and brainstorming the experiment.

Our team’s experiment outlines how yellow slime mold Physarum polycephalum can be used to understand how cancer cells spread in a microgravity environment. Go for Launch! gave me the opportunity to learn more about this subject. During this experience, I really enjoyed working with my team to solve new problems.
Looking forward to the launch of our experiment, I am excited to see our experiment on the ISS and to see the research results this experiment provides. I really enjoyed my Go for Launch! experience and I look forward to going to the Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral Space Force Station to see the experiment sent to space. This is a huge chance for me and my team.
