So as I was saying… next up as crewmates for this adventure…

Though Chicagoland will always be Sweet Home Chicago to me in many ways, my new forever home (of the last 3.5 years) and the Galactic HQ for Higher Orbits is Colorado where in the Denver area we are “One Mile Closer” to space! I knew that on this journey I wanted to bring along some Colorado Cosmic Colleagues who are friends and space lovers. If you’ve been in the Denver area and you enjoyed adult brewed beverages, I hope you have visited Launch Pad Brewery! (And if you haven’t add it to your itinerary the next time you are in town- STAT!)

Launch Pad Brewery

I was introduced to the Launch Pad Brewery (LPB) by my dear friends the Butlers. Since moving to Colorado, I have been fortunate to become friends with the Crew at LPB and they are wonderful supporters of Higher Orbits. The guys who started the brewery have space and military backgrounds and the whole brewery is full of space stuff! As you can imagine, it's a place I absolutely LOVE!!

When the opportunity for Mission Possible came to be, I KNEW I had to reach out to ask them if they would be interested in being part of this. I was overjoyed with the guys there jumped at this chance. They immediately started brainstorming about what their grand master plans were for this. They are flying yeast on this mission that will be used to create special beers where a portion of all sales will support our organization.

A lot of their beers have space names and they have astronomically amazing artwork on the boards on display in the brewery for each beer. I can’t wait to see what they come up with for this special “part of it has been to space” beer!

“We are very excited to be part of this mission, it will allow us to try and do something that hasn’t been done before. We at Launch Pad Brewery believe greatly in the STEM/STEAM education for students, the knowledge gained from this education is greatly needed for the future of the students that receive it. Craft Beer is our Rocket Fuel. Cheers!!” - David Levesque, Founder/Brewmaster, Launch Pad Brewery

I am so grateful the crew at Launch Pad Brewery has joined us on this adventure and I can’t wait for all the mission, and the post-flight to unfold with them!

Oh by the way, the Higher Orbits 10th Anniversary Celebration will be held at Launch Pad Brewery in Aurora, CO on August 10th. It will be a Blast-Off Brunch! Save the Date! (And our 10 year anniversary is just a few weeks after LPB’s!! Let’s Celebrate! Bonus points to you if you just sang the lyrics “Celebrate Good Times, Come On!”

LPB you are GO for launch with Higher Orbits on Mission Possible!

But wait, There’s More! Yes We have some more galactically great partners to spotlight so stay tuned for the next blog about this mission!

About Launch Pad Brewery

The concept for Launch Pad Brewery began in 2014 after a party with friends. Owner David Levesque and his wife Erin Levesque hosted a pumpkin themed party, one of their friends suggested that David make a pumpkin beer for the party. David was an avid home brewer, so he agreed. After the party, multiple guests commented how great brew was. Someone then suggested that David should open a brewery. That resonated with David. The next day he started working on a business plan. After a few days, he realized it could work. He talked to his best friend Henry and suggested that they take on this endeavor as a team. Dave asked him to come up with a name and logo. Henry designed a logo and suggested the name Launch Pad Brewery. Henry didn’t realize how serious David was until he said, “Do you want to do this?”. Henry responded with, “I don’t know anything about brewing, but I do have good credit”. That was it, Launch Pad Brewery was formed in October 2014.

Launch Pad Brewery opened its doors on July 24th, 2015
