The team’s winning experiment focuses on the evaluation of radiotrophic fungi in microgravity as a possible radiation barrier. This experiment launched to the International Space Station aboard SpaceX CRS-16 on December 5, 2018.
The Durham Series was made possible especially thanks to the support of the Durham County Library and the Durham Library Foundation. We are grateful for all their support. Higher Orbits would also like to extend a special thanks to all of volunteers, sponsors and donors who made all 6 of these events possible.
The team is still evaluating the data and we will post updates when we have them.
