Brianna’s Thoughts Before AIAA SciTech 2025

Howdy, y'all! It’s Bri again, I hope the 2024 holidays were incredible for anyone reading this, and wishing you an immaculate 2025 year. Now you may be thinking, what’re we doing here now, another queso story? Well, I don't have queso this time, but It’s AIAA Scitech time and I am absolutely stoked about another space conference to meet the most incredible people again!

Truly a dream come true, I am so excited to learn from top researchers in the field, learn about more opportunities in the aerospace industry, and as always meet more like-minded students here.

For this event, I will be joining the AIAA Diversity Scholars or Rising Stars in Aerospace, alongside Pepper from the Higher Orbits Space Coast event. I'm so excited to meet her and the other scholars, there's quite a few Texas’s which will be super fun.

Also thanks to Space Mom, incredible human Michelle Lucas, I have the opportunity to join the Higher Orbits panel which I’m also thrilled about since I’ll get to meet more Higher Orbits current/former students and talk about how I’ve been able to be immersed in the space industry through Higher Orbits.

I’m looking forward to the various talks and the exhibitors, especially the Women at Scitech as a young female coming up. It's always inspiring to meet and hear from the professionals, especially at events like this. One of the incredible opportunities we’re receiving through the Rising Stars in Aerospace program is the opportunity to tour the Kennedy Space Center. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and having the opportunity to finally go I cannot wait!

As a freshman engineering student at the TexasA&M Engineering Academy, I’m eager to know what a future career or possible internships would look like in the space industry and there's no better place to experience these opportunities than here!

I want to extend a huge thank you to Higher Orbits as I would’ve never known about this opportunity with AIAA without their emails and opportunities offered to us as students.

Catch y’all next week at Scitech!
