From One Celebration to the Next
Celebrating A Decade in Orbit
On August 10, our space family of alumni, mentors, parents, and friends gathered to celebrate 10 years of Higher Orbits. It felt like a reunion and a launch party at once: hugs at the door, patches to share, and seas of smiles as far as the eye could see. The best kind of liftoff.
Stories We Love to Tell
The celebration was filled with stories of first projects, favorite team moments, and what came next. Alumni compared patches, swapped photos, and laughed with the mentors who cheered them on from day one. The energy felt exactly like our programs: collaborative, curious, and full of possibility.
Cheers to Ten Years of STEM
We raised a glass (and a donut, or two!) to a decade of space-powered learning. Looking around, it was easy to see why this community matters: students turned teammates turned friends, and mentors who keep showing up. Here’s to the next chapter, and to creating opportunities for even more students in STEM!

Our August celebration just the beginning of the celebration! On June 29, 2026, we’ll mark 10 years of Go For Launch! and host the 100th Go For Launch! event in Deerfield, IL,the site of our first program, with Astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger, who helped us launch it all!
Plus, we're holding a number of alumni events in Chicago leading up the big day and we can’t wait to see you there!

Higher Orbits alumni are invited to join us for a 3.5 day symposium filled with networking, lightning talks, mentor sessions, and hands-on time with astronauts and STEM pros.
